Rafizi: The onus is on the opposition to performJanuary 7, 2018
In a message entitled “GE14: THE BALL IS IN OUR COURT”, PKR MP Rafizi Ramli made it clear that these elections are too close to call, but it will depend on how the Pakatan Harapan handles the entire campaign up to to the final counting stages.
“The truth is this: the outcome of GE14 will be decided by polling and counting agents, who are our last line of defence when votes tally is too close to call.
“If Pakatan Harapan can station trained polling and counting agents at every voting stream at all key marginal seats in the country, Pakatan Harapan will win GE14.
“If Pakatan Harapan cannot move beyond the usual rhetoric and neglects this last line of defence, Pakatan Harapan will lose GE14,” said the director of Invoke.
Less than 4 months from now, 15 million eligible Malaysians will cast the most important votes of their lifetime, he said.
He also said if PM Najib Razak and BN prevail for another 5-year term, it is certain average Malaysians will go through another round of hardship, worse than they ever had to go in recent times.
If the fledgling Pakatan Harapan coalition wins at least 115 seats, there is a possibility that we can start the process to rebuild this nation.
Those who were so confident previously to declare that GE14 is a walk-over for Dato’ Seri Najib: they are more cautious nowadays. They know it is going to be too close to call because even Umno’s Deputy President cautioned its members not to under estimate the under current against Dato’ Seri Najib; even in 3-corner fights.
Those who prophesised that any opposition coalition without PAS would be doomed: they are aware that PAS of today pales in comparison in terms of clout and support compared to its former self while with Pakatan Rakyat.
“Najib is not going to get the smooth sailing election that he expected. His confidence erodes by the months. The advantages that he used to have are being taken away one by one – including the opportunity to call snap polls when opposition parties were previously disorganised,” he said.
Much of the work to prepare for effective GE14 campaigns has been done. INVOKE can proudly showcase the progress of campaigns in these key marginal seats that we have assisted since September 2016.
