Two best buddies from childhood and they are both named Kamarul. One is KJ the Chef and KC the partner and his wife.
The young founders of the Neighbourhood Supply Restaurant, KJ, KC & Yana offers the best of EAST Coast & East Malaysia with its authentic breakfast fix of Nasi Minyak, Nasi Dagang and Mee Kolok Sarawak.
This restaurant, the Neighbourhood Supply at Sg. Penchala, is run and managed by the well known guys associated with Cufica Boys, a leading Islamic Design brand. The brand is well known in the country and internationally.
They opened up this eatery to solve their businesses cash flow but being Malaysian, it’s mainly for the love of eating.
And this love is being spread to the yearning public, with their special dishes prepared by the members of the group.
They believe that the eating environment is as important as the food we consume, therefore in this venture they want to provide the best of both worlds through the leading institution they know best; Family.

As to complete the missing pieces, the significant other of one of the Cufica Boys has joined the team to make a more homely feeling to the establishment.
These boys are from the East Cost of Malaysia, Terengganu and its only fitting that they start there. For breakfast, Nasi Dagang and Nasi Minyok are the mainstay.
“It is a family recipe that we grew up with,” they said.
Since it’s a family recipe they disregard the commercial sense of it by throwing the best authentic spices and traditional methods of cooking just like ‘Mak‘ used to make.
It may seem unusual for the KL crowd that is used to having Roti Canai and Nasi Lemak for breakfast but after trying them, it is not a disappointing substitute.
Mee Kolok Sarawak
For customers who are not a fan of ‘nasi’ they also have Mee Kolok Sarawak on the menu which is also a close relative recipe that have already made their name as the leading Halal Mee Kolok
in Kuching (Mee KolokHaji Salleh) for the past 30 years. Cover picture shows the Men Kolok Sarawak.
Next entree of this eatery is its Lunch and Tea Time menu. In this sector they feature Thai base dishes.
Customers get to enjoy their usual favorites in their own rendition like Seafood Tom Yum, Squid in Lime Sauce, Nasi Goreng Belacan, Mee Ladna and Kueh Teow Kung Fu for lunch also their must try signature dish Namprik Pau Tulang, a prominent crowd pleaser even among the foodies and food bloggers.
According to the operators, they are currently working on their tea time menu.
The restaurant is located near the entrance of Kg. Sg. Penchala.
As the name suggests, Neighbourhood Supply Sg. Penchala wishes to bring the best of the best dishes from all around Malaysia and possibly the world direct to the neighbourhood.
The area of the location of the restaurant has the reputation to house many well-known restaurants serving good, crowd pleasing dishes.
The joint is visible along the roadside with an open concept allowing cool breeze from the surrounding luscious greenery to pass through. It sits up to 98 pax spaciously and is decorated with reclaimed natural decorations such as plants and trees to match the surroundings.
Sitting in the eatery gives you a different environment all together. The clean, minimalist feel is able to open up your lungs and clear your head during a cool morning and on a busy afternoon. Even during a scorching hot city day, you are still able to hear the crickets playing you a symphony.
They entertain food deliveries and catering as well. Opens 8am – 6pm daily for now as they still want to gauge the market until they have found their footing,
In Sya Allah.
