A columnist blasted US Senator Tom Cotton for spreading fear and insanity provoked by the new coronavirus.
The column in South China Morning Post accuses Cotton of insanity in spreading rumours.
In a video, the Republican Senator says he believes the virus epicentre is not the animal market.
He also alleges the virus may have been from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The institute is certified to handle the world’s deadliest viruses.
The Chinese ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai says, “This will create panic. It will fan up racial discrimination, xenophobia, all these things that will really harm our joint efforts to combat the virus.”
However, Senator Cotton is right about one thing. The Chinese attempt to cover up the outbreak of the virus in December.
Read the WFTV reports on how the virus spread in China here:
The Chinese were still attempting to cover-up the outbreak and the reason behind the virus in February.
Nevertheless, read here how a Think Tank was saying the virus could spread through pollution.
On the other hand, calling the Senator a fool is wrong. China should have taken all the steps not to hide the origin and the extent of the virus to the world.
The virus did spread like wildfire outside China also and it is for the Chinese authorities to own up and admit their faults.
Yet, this is not a blame game and attacking each other on the virus spread will not solve the problem. The US and China have to remember one thing: This is not a Chinese problem anymore.
