Malaysia records the highest number of new #COVID19 with 432 cases

Malaysia recorded the highest number of new #COVID19 cases today at 432. Some 429 local of the number are from local transmissions and only 3 are imported cases.

Malaysia’s Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamad also tested positive for Covid-19. The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department is now in quarantine.

On Oct 3, Zulkifli attended a Covid-19 ministerial special meeting at the Prime Minister’s Department.

The meeting was attended by members of the Cabinet including Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Zulkifli was also in Sabah during the state election campaigning period for ministerial programmes.

It is reported that several political figures who were involved in campaigning in Sabah were later found positive with Covid-19.

They include BN candidate for Pitas, Sufian Abd Karim and Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan. 

On the other hand, several other political figures, including former premier Najib Abdul Razak have since then undergone self-quarantine.

Malaysia has seen a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases following the Sabah elections last week.

A huge shopping mall in Malaysia, 1Utama, also reported a case today.
