Report: Ain Husniza’s father says schoolmates who allegedly made rape threats against her forgiven – The Star Online

PETALING JAYA: Police action will not be pursued against a group of schoolmates who allegedly made rape threats against 17-year-old Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam, according to news portal Malay Mail.

Saiful Nizam Abdul Wahab, her father, was quoted as saying that the case will be recorded as a no further action (NFA) by the police after the schoolmates and their families sought forgiveness from Ain’s family.

“The perpetrators who made threats against my daughter apologised with their families and I take it that the matter has been settled, as the aim is to educate and not punish.

“So it is settled since they are underage, it was NFA-ed and we agreed to that, ” he was quoted as saying.

Saiful, however, said that they will still be pursuing action against Ain’s school, in order to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.

Ain made headlines after she lodged a police report against a male teacher for allegedly making rape jokes in class, a move that sent shockwaves to the nation.

“I forgive the teacher and Ain too forgave him, but the proceeding will go on. We are not going to retract the report and this has to be an example to prevent other daughters and sons from going through the same issue, ” he said.

Saiful also said he had attended a meeting with the school’s management, which included its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman.

He claimed that those present in the meeting understood why Ain decided to speak up on the issue and why the father and daughter were serious in pursuing the case.

“This should not be just another case. A precedent has to be set for the safety of our children and to ensure we raise better generations, ” he added.
