KAJANG: Three Covid-19 patients had to be relocated after a storm caused a flash flood at the Covid-19 ward of the Kajang Hospital.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre chief Zulfikar Jaffar said they received a distress call at around 9.53pm.
“We were called in to cut off the electricity supply to the Covid-19 ward due to flash floods.
“There were three patients receiving treatment using ventilators during that time,” he said.
He added that they managed to clear the stagnant water out of the ward and the three patients have been handed over to the hospital staff for further action.
Meanwhile in Kuala Lumpur, part of the Jalan Maarof road at Bangsar was damaged after the storm.
Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil tweeted that the road was damaged between Public Bank and Maybank.
“Jalan Maarof between Public Bank & Maybank – road damaged at numerous points likely due to water overflow beneath road surface because of the culvert wall collapse.
“Please avoid, as major repair works will take place over next few weeks if not months,” he tweeted.
