Covid-19: 8290 new cases, new daily record for fourth day running – The Star Online

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has recorded 8,290 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (May 28), continuing its upwards surge.

It is the fourth day in a row that the country registered new daily records, with today’s figure surpassing the 7,857 cases reported the previous day.

In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country’s cumulative cases is now 549,514.

Selangor remained the state with the highest daily increase, with 2,052 new cases recorded, followed by Kelantan with 851 new cases.

Kuala Lumpur posted 830 new cases, Johor has 762 and Sarawak has 698.
