It is like a scene in a murder thriller. A prominent professor walking about with a bag.

An unsuspected citizen has a conversation with the professor but finds something eery in his bag.

The arm of a human being is protruding from the professor’s bag!

Police are called while some bystanders hold the suspect, preventing him from running away.

This is what happened in Russia and it was a very public affair that went viral in the country of the former Tzars!

A prominent Russian professor and historian claimed he murdered his former student after an arm was found in his bag.

He is now known as a prominent gruesome killer and even for Russian standards, the murder is seen as a horribly horrifying act.

Oleg Sokolov (63) killed Anastasia Yeschenko (24) by shooting the victim while bickering.

Both were bickering over the Sokolov children from the results of a previous marriage.

Sokolov claimed his girlfriend was angry when she called them and attacked her with a knife. He then mutilated the body of his lover and dumped it in a number of locations.

The late Yeschenko had been in a relationship with Sokolov for several years. Both are also involved in a research project. He said he had lived with the victim for five years.

“I consider her a bride and tell my friends that I will marry her,” said Sokolov, according to fontanka.ru.

He said in court how the couple fought about his children. At the moment Sokolov has been sent to Kresty, a pre-trial detention centre for two months.

As reported by AFP on Wednesday, November 20, according to the legal counsel of the suspect, Alexander Pochuyev, the mentality of his client was shaken while in prison.

The authorities think they managed to stop Sokolov from committing suicide.
